Eight Belles was euthanized Saturday, March 3, 2008 within
seconds of collapsing in the second turn after finishing the
134th Kentucky Derby in 2nd to Big Brown.

This winning filly ran her heart out for everyone
and she will never be forgotten!

Churchill Downs in Louisville, Ky. Eight Belles was euthanized
after breaking both front ankles following a second-place finish in
the Kentucky Derby. Jones told The Associated Press on Monday
May 5, 2008 that if the Derby were run again tomorrow, he'd put
jockey Gabriel Saez right back on one of his horses.
