My name is Kinlee and I am 9 years old.

Last Christmas my mom and dad surprised my brother and I and took us to Texas to shoot a big game
animal.  The reason they took us there is because we live in Wyoming and in Wyoming you have to be 12 or
older to shoot big game and I was only 9 years old.  I’ve been begging since I was 7 to shoot a big game
animal.  My parents found out that in Texas you can be about any age as long as you are with an adult.

The first day of my hunt we went and sat in a blind to get the idea of what of to expect.  That day we saw
an axis deer and a couple bucks and a lot of does.  But we only had a couple of hours and we were just
looking.

The next day it rained and after the rain stopped we sat in a different blind.  And that is when the first
doe came in front of the blind.  She was only 40 yards away and I took my time and squeezed the trigger.
She ran about 20 yards and dropped!  I had finally taken my first big
game animal.  The great thing is the next day (and a little help from Dave
Watson) we made fresh burgers on the fire with my doe!

My brother also took his first doe the next morning and he was only 6!
Same thing only one shot and his deer ran off.  He blood trailed his into
the bushes but his only went about 30 yards as well.

This was the best couple days ever!
